A little help goes a long way

Guides and common questions
How do I stitch screenshots for the first time?
- Choose screenshot import on the LongScreen home screen and select your images in top-to-bottom order.
- Check the order in the workspace. Adjacent screenshots should overlap to help automatic deduplication. You can also turn deduplication off for direct vertical joining.
- Generate the result, inspect the preview, adjust seams if needed, then save or export.
Use the demo on the home screen to try the workflow first.
How do I turn a scrolling recording into an image?
- Open the recording feature in LongScreen. Select LongScreen in the system broadcast panel and explicitly start recording.
- Switch to the page you want to capture and scroll steadily downward. Avoid scrolling back and forth, zooming or rotating the device.
- Stop recording and return to LongScreen. Generate a long image from the capture task and check the result.
You can also import a video. Recordings and videos are processed for up to 30 seconds at a maximum width of 720 pixels. System recordings started through LongScreen save video frames without audio. Imported videos provide frames for stitching; the original media is not changed.
How do I enable the Safari extension?
- Enable LongScreen in Settings → Safari → Extensions. On newer systems, Safari is under Settings → Apps. You can also manage extensions from the Safari page menu.
- Open a regular web page in Safari, choose the LongScreen extension, allow access to the current website and start the capture.
- Keep the page in the foreground. Do not scroll manually, zoom, rotate or switch tabs during capture.
- Open LongScreen when capture finishes. If it does not open automatically, return to the app and open the result from web capture tasks.
Dynamic pages, infinite scrolling and separately scrolling regions may not capture completely. Check the result before exporting.
How do I fix repeated or missing content at a seam?
Check that your images are in the correct order and have enough overlap. Select the relevant segment in the preview, open the seam editor, and adjust the top or bottom crop one pixel at a time. You can undo a segment deletion.
Animation, fast scrolling and changing page content can affect automatic stitching. Try capturing a shorter, stable section and inspect each join.
How do I save PNG, JPEG or PDF?
Tap Save in the preview and choose a format. Save an image to Photos, or use the system share sheet to send an export to Files or another app. PDF output is paginated automatically.
Saving to Photos requires add-only photo permission. If declined, enable it in system settings or share to Files instead. If an image exceeds 32 million pixels, use paginated PDF or fewer screenshots.
What are the image, video and project limits?
Import up to 20 screenshots at once, processed at a maximum width of 1,440 pixels. Recordings and videos are processed for up to 30 seconds at a maximum width of 720 pixels. PNG and JPEG exports are limited to 32 million pixels.
LongScreen is designed for vertical content. Current edits are not guaranteed to survive an app restart, and projects do not sync across devices. Export results you want to keep. Recording and web tasks still in capture history can be used to regenerate results.
How do I delete content or free up storage?
Delete completed recording or web capture tasks you no longer need from capture history. Clearing the current project removes only current edits; it does not delete capture history, original photos or exported files. Delete saved copies from Photos, Files or the app where you saved them.
Temporary export files older than seven days are cleaned up during a later export. Read more under retention and deletion in the privacy policy.
How do I change language or report an issue?
Tap the language button with the globe icon in the app and choose Simplified Chinese or English. The preference is stored locally and shared with the extensions.
